Music has always been a big part of Pete’s life. In early high school through the music teacher he was introduced to the music of Bob Dylan, Neil Young and Creedence Clearwater band. The power of the songs and the ability to communicate with passion and beauty stuck with him and he has been creating music ever since.

Working as a youth worker in 1990, Pete used his natural aptitude for music to form and foster the Bookyana Band with students from Point Pearce Aboriginal School.

Jumping in with both feet, Pete became a fulltime musician in 1991 and was part of children’s duo “Adventures with Ricky & Pete” from 1991-1995. “Ricky & Pete” performed over 1000 shows across South Australia, Victoria and NSW and recorded two albums.

For the past 10 years Pete has been honing his craft as a song writer, guitarist and producer in independent bands such as Snook and current act Junior, and also as a facilitator of many song writing workshops and projects.

Pete has worked with organisations such as AusMusic Australia, Carclew Youth Arts, Mission Australia and many local Councils. Pete is regularly employed to deliver projects, seminars and workshops and has been integral in the lives of many up and coming Adelaide musicians.

As well as his passion and commitment to Junior, Pete continues to work with youth, students and unemployed people writing and recording songs, to encourage their and release their creativity.

A new passion for Pete is also a part of acoustic pop/rock duo “Rust Flower”. Recording their debut CD in March 2006, “Rust Flower” are looking forward to ‘getting on the road’ and meeting people where they live (see “Originals - Rust Flower” page on this website).
